Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
Ingredients
- 1 Bunch Asparagus
- 1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Lb Thin Sliced Bacon
Instructions
- Preheat grill, smoker, or oven to 350. Wash the asparagus and chop off the button inch or two of each piece. Place the asparagus into a bowl. Drizzle 1-2 Tbsp of olive oil on the asparagus. Add salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix the oil and seasonings so they are evenly distributed on the asparagus.
- Separate the asparagus into groups of 8-10 pieces. Cut the bacon slices in half so they are shorter. Wrap each group of 8-10 pieces of asparagus about half way up with a half slice of bacon. Place each group in the grill, smoker, or oven for about 20-30 minutes. The asparagus should be a beautiful dark green color with a slightly crunchy texture, and the bacon should be the perfect texture. Enjoy!

If you are looking for a great side for your steak dinner, look no farther than asparagus. Asparagus is beautiful, crunchy, and delicious. I have found that giving it a touch of smoke and fire is a great way to even more elevate the delicious side. It doesn’t take much to present asparagus beautifully, because it is beautiful all on it’s own. I am a bacon lover though, so I just had to try incorporating it somewhere.
Bacon is love. Bacon is happiness. Bacon is the culinary hug that we have, but don’t deserve. Wrapping mini bunches of asparagus with a half slice of bacon is exactly the hug that vegetables need. Add all of that with the seasoning on the asparagus, and the grilled flavor, and you will have a perfect side to your steak dinner that you will be sure to love.
