Mango Habanero BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Frozen Mango Chunks
- 2 Habanero Peppers Use 1 if you want it to be a bit more mild
- 1 Cup Apple Juice
- 8 Oz Tomato Sauce
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Cup Molasses
- 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1/3 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Lime Juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together in a pot. Leave the mango chunks in cubes. Bring to a boil and let simmer on medium low heat for 25-30 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken and the mango chunks soften. Remove the pot from the heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Pour the contents of the pot into a blender and blend to your desired consistency. I like to make sure the mango is blended smooth and evenly into the sauce. Enjoy!

Who doesn’t love the sweetness of a mango. I have noticed that over the last few years, mango has become one of the most popular flavors for a lot of different foods. I will take it any way I can get it. Mango is so good, that you can even throw it in a savory dish. If you are a fan of spicy food, habanero peppers make the perfect partner for mango. This BBQ sauce is the perfect blend of mango and habanero spice that I can’t get enough of. If you don’t do well with spice, you may want to stay clear of this one, reduce the habanero to just one pepper, or leave the habanero out completely. For all you spice lovers out there, this one shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. It’s enough to warm you up, but not burn your tongue to a crisp. I really hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
