This might be one of the most simple recipes you will find. In Utah, we are known for something called fry sauce. Some companies have come out thinking they are all cool because they invented Mayochup. Basically it’s a mixture of mayo and ketchup that tastes great on fries and burgers. Everybody in Utah knows that the real name is fry sauce, and it was our wonderful idea. 🙂
This recipe isn’t fry sauce, nor will I claim it to be. It is something similar, but it is made with a hot sauce instead of ketchup. This will satisfy the needs of the spicy food lover. This stuff is killer on burgers! The mayo gives us the perfect creaminess, and the hot sauce gives us the tang and spice. I love to put this stuff on a burger I call The Angry Burger. That is the burger you see in the picture.
The Angry Burger doesn’t always have to have the same toppings. For me, The Angry Burger is the perfect comfort food after a frustrating or difficult day. Sometimes it needs bacon. Sometimes it needs an egg. Sometimes it needs pickles. The one thing that The Angry Burger always needs, is to be spicy. For me, it always does just the trick to calm my nerves, and feed my hangry soul.
There are a couple other goodies besides mayo and hot sauce that make this sauce great, but other than that, it’s super simple. This recipe doesn’t require any cooking. All you need are the ingredients, a bowl, and a spoon. You can use pretty much any hot sauce in this recipe, but I have found that using Mexican hot sauce tastes the best. My personal favorites are Tapatillo, Cholula, and Valentina. Any of these will work great. It you want a spicier mayo, use the hotter version of these hot sauces, or just add a bit more than the recipe asks for.
For The Angry Burger, what you see in the picture is a burger patty, cheddar jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, bread and butter pickles, fresh jalapeno, gooey fried egg, and spicy mayo. Enjoy!
