Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

One of the greatest ways to enjoy mushrooms. Take mushrooms from the great food they already are, to a stuffed, cheesy, delicious appetizer. These little guys are so easy to make, and don't require very many ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 6-8 Crimini or White Mushrooms
  • 8 oz. Softened Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Pinch Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your smoker to 225 degrees F
  • Remove the stems from the mushrooms
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together the cream cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and parmesan cheese.
  • Place a small spoonful of the cream cheese mixture into each mushroom, so each one is filled evenly
  • Place the mushrooms on the grill grates. Let cook for 40-60 minutes. Remove the mushrooms when they reach the desired consistency. I like to wait until the cheese gets a faint yellow color to it, and the mushrooms soften. This usually takes about 50 minutes.
  • Remove from the smoker, and enjoy!

I’m a huge mushroom fan. I love them in omelettes, stroganoff, salads, and so much more. One of my favorite kinds of mushrooms are stuffed mushrooms. There are a million things to stuff mushrooms with, but of course I just had to go for cream cheese. I put that stuff in everything!

One of the best advantages to this recipe, is that it comes with a pretty small ingredient list. These are so easy to make! It’s one of those appetizers that you can just throw on the side of pretty much anything else you have going in the smoker. The ingredients are also inexpensive, and easy to find.

Mushrooms absorb smoke like a champ. The smoky flavor, amazing texture of the mushroom, and creaminess of the stuffing are fantastic. Fire up your grill, throw these mushrooms together, and enjoy one of the greatest appetizers out there.
